The Organ Pipes

The pipes are an integral part of the Kimball organ (KPO-7066) which is an original installation at the Chapel. This organ is one of a very few of its kind in operation today.
There are 13 sets of pipes divided between two rooms called the chambers. The pipes range in length from 8 feet to inches. The pipes offer a more “classic” or “church“ type sound. They are controlled by a unique 3 keyboard and pedal console. This console is created in a “theatre” or curved style which is found in theatre organs of the 1910-1930 periods.
The Kimball organ and pipes were recently restored, after a year long restroation project the organ as of September 2004 the organ is now back in place at the historic chapel.
The Foundation is serving as the project manager for the restoration project. The Foundation is seeking funds to support the completion of this important project. If you are interested in making a gift to the Organ Restoration Fund contact the office at 612/970-7866 or through email at donation@forsnellingmcf.org.
